UFC fighter Holly Holm thew a question at Beyoncé that she probably doesn’t get often — if at all. When Holm met the Carters at a party they hosted for the Canelo Alvarez vs. Miguel Cotto fight in Las Vegas on Saturday (Nov. 21), she asked Queen Bey what her name was.
Talk about awkward.
Holm told KRQE News, “I meet Jay Z and he says this is my wife, and I'm like, ‘Oh, hi what's your name?’ Because that's what I do when I meet someone's wife. I'm shaking her hand I'm thinking, ‘Why did I just say that? Why did I just say that to Beyoncé?’”
Not that Bey even minded being asked her name, but Holm apologized anyway. The superstar assured her that it was no big deal.
”Jay Z is asking me about the fight and I can't even focus on what he's saying because I just put my foot in my mouth,” continued Holm. “I literally have to, like, interrupt him and I'm like, ‘I’m really sorry.’ And I go back to Beyoncé and I'm like, ‘Beyoncé, like, I can't believe I just did that.’ She goes, ‘Oh no, it’s fine.'”
